Class 1: The Sephardi-Mizrachi High Holiday Table
Tuesday September 2, 4:00 - 6:00pm
Discover the fascinating symbolism behind the traditional foods on the tables of Jews from Spain to Persia and everywhere in between. These colourful delicious foods are a gateway to spirituality, community and religious observance while being satisfying and tasty. In this class we will prepare three dishes which we will sample during class with recipes to take home.
Class 2: The Ashkenazi High Holiday Table
Tuesday September 9, 4:00 - 6:00pm
Go beyond pickled tongue and fish heads. We’ll dig into the European Jewish foods important symbolically and practically for high holiday observance. Prepare 3 dishes that may be evocative of your Bubbie’s table or are brand new to you that you’ll take to your family and incorporate into your tradition.
Class 3: The Local High Holyday Table
Tuesday September 16, 4:00 - 6:00pm
Rosh Hashanah is about new beginnings. This year, embrace your local food scene and learn how to incorporate locally available seasonal produce into your high holiday celebration.
